The pic below is a pretty good comparison of image quality vs. file size. As you can see the original image on the left was 132kb vs. the 25kb size of the compressed version on the right. I used Irfanview for this particular image with a compression percentage of 60. It reduced the file size a little over 5 times which = $$$ in your pocket.
